How to use the loft tool on this?

Hey I just started working on this project and already ran into a issue. I want to connect the marked areas. I thought the Loft tool would be the right choice to do it. Thanks in advance!

Select all the faces and loft then subtract some and loft-cut.

You cannot loft a face that has a hollow area in it.

I tried lofting like this. But still no success. Any other ideas?
Maybe it is too complicated? Because there are rounded edges?

Loft tool works only with plain faces.
So either:

  • you project the outline of each face to new sketches and use loft from these simple faces or
  • you temporarily change all the internal lines into construction lines before doing the loft, or
  • you extrude top face upward any distance, bottom face downward any distance and do the loft operation from the bottom of the top extrusion to the top of the bottom extrusion :thinking:

Thanks for the fast response! It worked!
I projected the outline of each face onto a new sketch and then used loft!
Loft is such a powerful tool!

Be nice if the loft would intuitively ignore the internal faces.
