Can anyone point out what I’m doing incorrectly. I’m trying to use the generative fill to create a domed surface on body 1. I can create a fill in the X axis but not along the Y. I’ve made versions of this model so many times now and every now and then the fill works - but it’s rare and I can never see what I’ve done differently. I’m using a MacBook air M1, 2020 with Tahoe OS 26.7.2…many thanks in anticipation

Thank you for your experimenting with the Fill tool, we will check your project and get back to you soon. In the meantime, please check out the new Fill tool tutorial videos for useful tips: https://support.shapr3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/30745587264028-Fill-Beta?utm_source=app#what-is-the-fill-tool
Hello Wayne,
I’ve taken a look at the project, and I found the issue: the problem here was that you tried to join your dome sketches to a projected version of the body, which resulted in a tiny gap between the edge and the body face. I removed them, and coincided directly to the purple dot of the body, now it works.

Thank you Laura
I’lll look through this carefully tomorrow
Many thanks - Wayne
Thank you very much. I didn’t realise that if I projected a sketch onto a plane and used that projection for additional sketch lines there would be a small gap. I’ve pulled apart your model and rebuilt it again and I think I can repeat it now, so genuine thanks
PS. Is there a quick reference guide for the various colour dots we see, green, blue, purple, blue with white inside etc? I note the blue ones have the label ‘END POINT’
