Import of ~300MB STP file failing

I recently purchased an iPad Pro (2021 11") and am excited to try Shap3r modeling over my current Fusion/Rhino flows.

I’m working with STP files from auto manufacturers for vehicle upfitting and require their CAD files as a base for my part designs. Unfortunately the files are perpetually in the ‘importing’ phase without error messages. Can someone help me understand why they’re not completing or somehow find descriptive errors so I can resolve the root cause? The files are large-ish, around 300mb. They also appear to be a mix of surfaces and solids.

Yes, that sounds pretty big. Can you by any chance get x_t files instead of STEP? There is a lot of unnecessary data translation and conversion going on when you are using STEP, data exchange over x_t should be much more robust.
