Integrated Exploded Views and Assembly Documentation Tools

Dear Shapr3D Team,

I am writing to formally request the addition of Integrated Exploded Views and Assembly Documentation tools.

I am aware that this feature has been “on the radar” for quite some time and is one of the most frequently discussed topics within the community and the forums. However, it remains unclear if or when a native solution will be implemented. As of 2025, the current lack of a dedicated environment for assembly instructions still forces many of us to break our workflow by exporting models to external software like Cadasio or Fusion 360.

To recap, the community is looking for:

  1. Dedicated Exploded View Environment: A non-destructive way to displace parts along axes without altering the original design coordinates.

  2. Trailing Lines (Trail Lines): Visual paths showing how parts align during assembly.

  3. Step-by-Step Sequence Manager: The ability to save and export assembly stages as a logical sequence.

  4. 2D Drawing & Web-Viewer Integration: Seamlessly using these views in technical drawings and interactive shared links.

While the recent advancements in parametric modeling and 2D drawings are fantastic, the missing link for many professional users is the ability to document the “how-to-build” phase directly within Shapr3D.

Could you provide an updated status or a roadmap on whether this feature is currently in active development for 2026?

Many of us rely on Shapr3D for our entire design-to-manufacturing pipeline and would love to see this gap finally closed.

Best regards
