Hey all! I’m new to Shapr3D and downloaded it a while ago. The build I grabbed was v5.710 and it runs on my Mac Studio which is currently running OSX 12.3.1. I see the latest version of Shapr3D requires 13.x to run, so i’m wondering what the last version was that supports OSX 12.x and if it’s possible to still download that somewhere? Thanks!
Hello
No, it’s not possible. You need OSX 13.
Can you tell me what the last version was that ran on OSX 12.x and the build number? It looks like you can still download old builds but i’d need that specific info.
Hi,
I Think you should email to Support Portal .
Probably not a real answer but back in October from what I can recall I did a fresh OS install on my 2015 Imac using Opencore Legacy Patcher. The imac is an intel based unit from early 2015 so it is beyond the support range and that is why I went with the opencore legacy patcheer. It was able to install up to 15.0.1 and then did some incremental updates to whatever was current as of 10/6/2024. I’m 95% sure Shapr3d worked and opened fine but I was just updating it for some othersofware as well but I just remember that was kind of one of the ones I updated it for to see and I was happy with it at the time.
What I can’t recall is if I tested it after the updates it did that day and it is not worth it to do a fresh install and start over to see because it takes forever to install it. Like a dunce I allowed auto updates and as well I so I am not sure if it was updates that day or later in the year as security stuff came available from Apple. I should have known better just knowing it was a sketch install from the onset. I did not attempt to use Shapr on it for a while after that because I usually swap between my primary travel Windows laptop, Ipad, and also a gaming PC so by the time I came back and tried to use Shapr it just gives me an error when opening (i was playing a game and the mac is just sitting here so figured it would be handy to edit some drawings while waitng on friends to get online and not be tabbed out.
I wish I knew which version was working but no real way to know other than looking back at what security updates were out. I suppose you could do the patcher up to 15.0.1 and go from there but like I said I am really sure it was working there but just can’t say 100% and if you are not too concerned about every update from apple you can maybe just get it to 15.0.1 and leave it there (turn off updates). I think Open core pushes out security updates that eliminate the apple portions that are going to disable hardware but not really sure. I figure a 15.0.1 install on any old mac running OS 12 is still going ot be better off, lol
