Linear Pattern Not On Global Axis

Hi All,

Wondering if there is a way to pattern a part on an angle that is not 90 degrees on the global axis. Similar to pattern on path in other programs.

Am I missing something or is the only way to do to pattern it before aligning to the odd angle. See attached screenshot of the part and and also the shapr file.

Cheers

So we don’t have pattern on curve.

If it’s a super long and complex, I just use Onshape’s curve pattern tool and export it step so I can import it in shapr to continue.

If it’s not a lot to do it manually, I do something like this using constraints.

It’s not as bad as it looks, just copy and paste connect with constraints.

Thanks so much for your help.

Cheers

Hi there
Alternatively.
Draw a succession of short straight lines, snapping to the curved path as you go.
Then ‘shift select’ all of the short lines and set ‘=’ equal as their constraint.
You can also do this with a selection box too.
Now set one of the short lengths with the spacing measurement that you want, and they should adjust there position along the chosen path.
You can snap your chosen shape to each of the intersects between the short straight lines. You can also snap shapes to the mid point of each short line.
Now extrude all of your shapes.
