Pattern Along S Curve

Is there a way I can create a pattern of the box/rectangle along the s-curve body I created on the left so I can create the individual sections like you see to the right of the box in the image?

Sorry no. Disappointing!

If you can use simple circular arcs for the ‘S’ curve, then the Pattern tool could work.

Brilliant workaround but limited to circular arcs.

non circular arcs.

bit tedious

If you have the patience, you can do it one by one. Draw segments in the arc continuously, then use The “equal” constraint.

But you’re better off converting the curve to just tangent arcs(more than two) ,and then do what Mike suggested.

Yes, to say the least. I did a work around, but should be much quicker than this.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Yes, that is what I did, but just used the center points from each of the arcs for the box rotation. Should be a much quicker method in here by now.

This is what we need. https://youtu.be/DfoEA3keTUM

Ah yes, that is awesome. Like the tube tool in Nomad! I love the fact that Shapr is desktop and tablet, but it does seems like the tablet option is the only viable thing that is keeping me from going elsewhere.

if you want to stay within iPad Onshape is the next option.

Onshape has curve pattern, but their iPad app kinda sucks.

Platicity is pretty cool they have Blender sync, you can go from CAD to Mesh and back.

There way to get that working in Shapr if you are willing to use few apps. Blender to draw 3d curves, Freecad to convert it to STEP and import in shapr.
