I am trying to model an A/C knob from a Toyota Tundra. I’m able to create the basic shape, and extrusions and center grip. However, I am having difficulty creating the smooth curves from the grip into the edge of the round body. The surface curves in 3 dimensions - from an end-view there is a fillet that blends into the side of the knob, and from the side view, the grip curves down into the edge of the knob. Pictures attached of what this looks like. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
I took a different approach which is more complicated. I decided to construct it in pieces due the the many varying fillet radii. In the interest of trying to replicate the contours, I made mine symmetrical in the length and width noting that your original knob has a larger radius on the one longer side. Mine can be redone with only making the width mirror symmetrical. Sorry for the stepped video as it also shows the midstream alterations during construction. Also note that I didn’t use some of the initial sketches. Offering this as food for thought for this interesting modeling challenge.
This is the first time I utilize the history feature the way it was ment to be used I think? I went back to the state so I can add the inner bulge, OG photo showed black void.
By the way how is your UI flipped? Is this an iPad accessibility feature? I have a windows tablet would love to have ui Flipped but couldn’t find an option.
The flipped UI option has been available ever since Shapr3D was iPad ONLY and yes, I’m on an iPad Pro. I don’t believe this feature is available on the desk tops whether Mac or PC. I would have thought it’d be an option on a Windows tablet.
On mine it’s under Settings → Interface (Left / Right).
Thanks for the info, its a bummer no LEFT or RIGHT in the settings on Windows Tablet.
