Offsetting a solid with a 45 degree face on one end, i would like to offset at 90 degrees rather than the 45 degree cut face

Hi guys, first post.

I’m trying to offset a 45 degree end cut face but offset it at 90 degrees to a known figure, basically i am trying to reduce the length from 1600 to 600mm, however it offsets to the plane of the 45 degree face if that makes sense?

I have a video but it will not allow me to upload.

Thanks
Matt

Sorry, but I don’t quite follow what you want to do. Here’s what I think it is. Am I close?

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, so, when you offset the angled face at first, that’s what I’m doing and that’s the way i want to offset it also, however if you want to go to a known size then that’s where its tricky, the known size isn’t correct from the point where you are offsetting from, so for instance if you were to offset upwards on your model, and type say 100mm, that would be from the intersection and not the actual point of the offset origin.

I have done a video but it will not allow me to upload as I’m a new user.

I have worked around it for now but i think there must be an easier way.

Thanks
Matt
