Personal approach to Drawing layout, and using Intersection Marks, and centerlines?

Besides being used for their obvious purposes, what are some other examples they may make sense to use in drawings?

As an example, if there are two lines that would intersect but don’t in the drawing and I need to mark a dimension using one of the lines, I will then use intersection mark which ends up in a empty space where there are no lines, that way I can remove some visual clutter from the drawing when adding other dimensions near the same area. I mostly find myself using these features to help with visual clutter and/or clarity more than anything, so I’m just curious if there are some specific examples anyone could provide in which they use said features or other ones, in some systematic way when doing their drawings? Like

“I always place intersection marks for these points but never for anything else because that way when I look at the drawing and see the intersection mark I’ll know blah blah blah”

if that makes sense.
Even if it’s symbols or markings that can’t be done by shapr and you do in another app, id like to know your process.

I’m just trying to create a more systematic approach with how I do my drawings, where I place markings, the line thicknesses I choose and everything, so I’m curious if anyone could provide any personal examples or anything that you may do and why.
