Same issue as RyanH with Pointer Detected happening when I use my MBP next to my iPad. It used to happen only occasionally, but tonight it happened 4 times in short succession. I think this has to do with the Universal Control feature that shares the pointer/keyboard input between both devices. A proposed solution for iPad would be to have an option to select the Apple Pencil input in addition to the other 2 options.
