Project at an angle

I’m trying to project a sketch on the z-axis onto an angled shape. The sketch is the same height as the face of the shape i’m projecting onto, so i was expecting the projection to fill the face. However the projection follows the angle of the face, skewing the projection.

Is there a better way of achieving this? Thanks!

You could, after selecting the sketch, click on the axis which you want to turn it around. This way, your sketch will stay perfect.

Good luck!

Thanks GroMark, i’m trying to project, not rotate the sketch. I’m not seeing the option to select a rotation axis.

What you want to achieve is called wrapping not projecting. If you want to get projection without distortion both planes have to be in parallel, that’s why you have to rotate sketch before project it.

Thanks for explaining more, I was currently busy so I didn’t have the time for it. I hope this helped, olluk!

My video was just a demo. In this particular case much better would be to draw sketch on triangle face.

Thanks Xdrakosha & GroMark!
