When I select the edge of a body Shapr3D now presents a pop up menu. I have to select a merge version of the object. I simply want to select the edge of the body. Having to choose a merged version was not necessary previously and makes a simple click slower.
Is this new development? Is there a way around this?
This app is increasingly unbearable to use. By far one of the worst “features” they’ve added. And they still haven’t fixed detaching sketches from bodies which leads to a cluttered workspace. The first versions of this app were better than these latest updates.
It’s really sad to see, a lot of us are all going to sketch up since SHAPR has become so cumbersome. There was so much potential here.
The capability to select a something that wasn’t selected by shapr’s best guess is needed. However, the current implementation is really bad.
I suggest that that the best guess selection should be the main path with a passive option (e.g. a little icon that non-invasively appears if there are multiple possibilities. If the user wants to, they could click on it to select a different option.
Also, while the highlighting the feature on hover is good, it doesn’t work on the iPad… That should at least be implemented for the pro pencil which has hover capability.
The paradigm should be for shapr3d to default to best guess with the non-invasive option to choose from other options. This is how some of the other tools like extrude work. Had it been implemented this way, I don’t think anyone would complain.
SPAM it is not. The solution is to get rid of new way and get back to the basics. Or as others have suggested, create a switch to either use it as is or as it was before.
Your choice is informative a regarding the culture of Shapr3D.
I totally agree. A toggle would be great. This feature infuriates me more and more as time goes on as I find i have to zoom in or pan to a huge extent to click on what is right in front of me as the dialogue box is pure guesswork as to whether you select the right option. I’d like the option to not select through an object, but just what is in plain sight.
