How big is the table?
the saved shaper file is 23kb, the size of the table is like 19 inches (48 cm) high, 54 inches (137 cm) wide, 32 inches (81 cm) deep. Is that too large? Iâm happy to send this file to somebody to see if I have something wrong. Iâm no expert.
Thank you for your very fast reply, sir.,
Respectfully,
Trey
No, not at all. I meant the physical size. Can you share the .shapr file with our support team?
yes, sir. thank you, I will send it over with a brief summary.
Respectfully and thankful,

I have some new info concerning my issues using the Webviewer. I am waiting to hear from tech support concerning the correctness of my model, but, I did some troubleshooting. I removed the wood material from the table top, and applied a basic material, and I was able to get the link to generate without errors. The webviewer worked very well. I do not know if this was just a quirk or if the viewer and the âwoodâ material I had used on my model in the visualizer have an issue working together. I am still not sure at this time if I created my model correctly, so the issues I had could totally be caused by me using the software incorrectly. I am hoping to be educated by tech support, however, I did not submit my file to them for review until after normal business hours, and I am not expecting to hear from the support techs until tomorrow at the very earliest. I do not consider myself a high priority, and I let the tech support team know via email that this was not an important project. Iâm very happy with the functionality of the Shapr3D Webviewer, and I am eager to see what can be done to show my model with the âwoodâ material applied. I will provide feedback as I learn more.
I removed the âwoodâ material and added the âlaminated - glossyâ to the table top surface. I have a âmetalâ material surface on the legs.
ââ-UPDATEââ-
I heard back from tech support first thing the next morning. They are still working hard to make the webviewer work even better. I canât wait to see the wonderful things they do in the future with this app. I think back to how difficult it was for past generations of computers to process 3D and it is just amazing how well this software works today. Thank you for your very fast help and support. I look forward to learning and using Shapr3D.
Guess this explains why trying to share my whole house designs doesnât work. The âcreating linkâ gets struck part way and as there isnât a cancel option I have to quit and restart Shapr (on ipad).
Webviewer is great and works for some of my models but not all.
I did read your post above and appreciate the issues with physical size of the model but Iâve had issues with some small models with few textures applied.
Me too - annoying, go to the edit menu and hit delete but reset seems to clear the problem. That also works.
The webviewer share dialogue says only the first 5 designs are free. There is no indication of the cost to use this feature beyond the initial 5 designs anywhere on the Shapr3d site.
Sharing is free for as many links as you want. Only embedding is limited to 5 links, because for high volume websites our hosting costs could be very high. In these cases we reach out directly to our customers to discuss how we could help them.
Thank you Istvan
A tight limit on the number of embeds is difficult.
Is this choice due to the proprietary shaders for visualise?
Can this functionality be implemented without embedding it on Shapr3D servers?
I already use Sketchfab and Marmoset Toolbag & Simlab Composer, both of which have good webGL output with necessary HTML, and Marmoset Toolbag even has a WordPress plugin.
We might lift that limitation, and tweak the pricing to allow more embeds, but initially we wanted to be cautious, to orevent our server costs blowing up. Itâs a very popular feature.
I love this feature, but is there an option in the works to lower the resolution of the shared design? I would like to show the design, but make it impossible to use it as a template for someone to copy the design. Thanks, Poul
Waaaoo I would like a tutorial on this
Hi,
Are there still plans to increase the limit on model size. Using Shapr for my architectural work, all of my models are too big for this feature but I often get asked by clients if there is a way of them viewing models themselves.
Thanks
Hi,
There is no limit on the size for the Webviewer.
The problem lies with the devices capabilities. Especially on the mobile side, the amount of memory a browser tab can use, is very limited, and we canât really do much about it at this point.
Since the file size is closely related to the physical size of the models, one workaround is to create a copy of the project on the Designs page, scale down the model, and share the scaled down version.
Thanks Laci,
I will give the scaling suggestion a go.
Not that I know how these things work but surprised that the dimensions of a model relate to file size. Whether the model is in millimetres or meters I would have thought the data is the same with the only difference being a scale factor to suit the units being used.
Thanks
Hi again,
I tried scaling a house model down to 1% of its original size but it made no difference and the file size actually increased slightly.
What is the limit on file size? In this instance the file was just over 17MB.
Thanks again.
We need to bake bigger textures, and the vast majority of the file size of the exported format for Webviewer comes from them.
You can also reduce the file size a lot by not using materials, just coloring the default material.
