I have a i7-8600k clocked at 5 ghz, 32 gig ddr4 and a rtx 2070 8gig card.
This is becoming so slow, its unreal.
I have hidden much of the model and still very slow response times.
Why? history?

Hiding certain parts of the model can be helpful in some situations, but it may not necessarily improve the project’s overall responsiveness, since the geometry and Design History are still part of it.
A large or complex Design History can also lead to slower response times, especially when changes involve dependent operations.
As a quick test, could you check whether you experience the same slowdown in a new, simple project? This will help us determine whether the issue is specific to your current project or a more general performance issue.
You might also consider duplicating the affected project and using Merge History to see whether simplifying it improves responsiveness.
