I use spline tool for my creation heavily. It was perfect at first, lately started to crash easily when using spline to trace.
Plus notice the splines tool works differently and really bother me. Is it an update on the tool. I very much prefer the original.

Welcome to the forum.
I opened a ticket for some regression / crashes caused by the spline tool on versions 5.260, which were not all corrected on 5.270; but the good news is they seem to be corrected on the next release 5.280 : for me, it works fine now on the 5.280 beta version.
So there is a good chance that the next release fix the crashes for you too.
