Split Body along a saw-tooth line?

Relatively new Shapr3D user here, and I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, but could someone help me split this piece into 2 but with a kind of saw-tooth break, which I’m going to use to align the pieces after they’re printed?

I drew this saw-tooth line, copied it, and then connected the two as to create a faux plane to use with the Split Body tool, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Use the extrude/cut method. Check this thread out for ideas How to slice a box to create a lid and base - #4 by Oregonerd

This is how I would do it…

First I duplicated the model and made it coincide with the original.

Then I created the cutting profile.

I hid body2 then used the profile to cut away one half of body1.

I then hid body1 and used the profile to cut away the corresponding half of body 2.

Et voila

Wow, thank you so much for the thorough explanation and making a video of it! Much appreciated!
