Split Body: Existing Edge

NX allows for splitting bodies using “extrudes”, which takes geometry like circular edges or sketch circles to split a body. See example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoSE8katyww

In an example below, it would enable the threaded trunnion to be split into two bodies using a circle (red).

Feature Request: enable splitting bodies with shapes other than planes.

Coming very soon, we are already working on this.

The downside to this workflow is the additional steps:

  1. Creating a plane
  2. Creating a sketch
  3. Creating circle
  4. Extruding Circle

The NX method is pretty quick/natural. I will think more about how to implement what you’ve shown more naturally, however.
