Stylus on windows laptop with touchscreen

Hey

So I got this aftermarket stylus and wanted to give it a go in Shapr3D. Unfortunately the pen acts just like my fingers. Is there a setting I am missing?
I read the support page and found something about Surface app, but that doesn’t seem to do it.

Stylus support can be quite problematic, if you aren’t using one that is supported by the device’s maker.

Some displays just don’t work with some pencils (or pencils at all), even if the manufacturer is the same (I had some bad luck with some Lenovos and Dells too).

Basically, only use pencils you get with the laptop, or is on the official support page of the specific device, otherwise it’s a hit or miss.

Ok, thanks for explaining.

I’ve had mixed luck as well with oddball tablets and pencils. All made great promises but rarely kept them :weary:

Do you have a list of working/recommended pens?

No, it absolutely depends on the manufacturers.

The ones you get with the devices work for sure, other than that, you need to do the research.

Or you can go for a Wacom device, all of them are supported.
