Thumbnails stopped saving after the last update

On Shapr3D for iPad, when I open a file, edit and save, the thumbnail doesn’t update to show the changed viewpoint. It’s most obvious because I’m viewing the model from a different direction when I save it, but once the file closes, the default view angle is still shown.
But when I open the file again, all the changes I made to the model are still there. It’s just the that thumbnail didn’t update as it always has in the past.
I hope you fix this soon because these updated thumbnails help me remember what part of the model I was last working on.
This started happening after the most recent update.
Is anyone else having this issue?

If indeed the thumbnails are not updating, then it could be a glitch.
However, Ver. 5.750 has the following updates.

“Improvement: camera views and settings such as zebra, separation, and section views are now reset to defaults each time you exit and re-enter a project. This ensures consistency in dashboard previews and keeps you in the loop even if changes are made on other devices or during collaboration.”

Yeah I saw that before posting this, but even if I’m only using the iPad to create or open a file, I can never change the view of the thumbnail.
It only shows the thumbnail as seen from the front, right, top corner, at some default distance.

As mentioned, that’s a serious problem for me, because I’m developing very complex models over long periods of time, so the saved view of the thumbnail is essential for recalling what I was working on last.
And not all models are clearly seen from one default viewpoint.
I hope they didn’t just decide to dump that capability.

In Shapr3D, when you exit a workspace, the view displayed on the dashboard is the default view. This cannot be customized.
Note that the default view is the view when you double-tap the gizmo cube on the interface’s top-right corner.

If you’d like to work on the same view after exiting the workspace, please save the view, steps are outlined here.

Since when? When did this change? It must have been with this last update or the one before.

This is a serious issue.
I have numerous designs where the subject is a small part, of a large 3D scan.
If all I see in the thumbnail is the whole scan, and not the small part I’m designing, then I just have a bunch of zoomed out thumbnails that don’t show the subject.

I only work solo and I use one device almost exclusively. So unifying the thumbnail for collaborative work is irrelevant to me. But even for groups, the ability to set a default view could be just as essential.

Can’t you just add a Saved View which is called; Manual Default View.
Or maybe just put a radio button beside each of the 8 saved views, so you can choose which one (if any) is your thumbnail view.
That would be useful for everyone and very easy to implement.

Did you also take away the ability to save thumbnails as visualizations?
You must realize that industrial designers rely heavily on that capability.

Just… WHY?

I can’t be the only user that needs to have these features restored.
