Tilted 3D egg shape based on visual design

Good day everyone!

I’m still a beginner in using Shapr3D, but I see that there are fantastic and knowledgeable people, so I’m in the right place.

I would like to ask for help.

The task is to design an “egg-shaped dome” element by element based on a visual design so that the parts can be sent from the 3D drawing for CNC machining.

We have a visual design for it, a pdf also a visual design of the structure and someone made a sketchup design, although it’s not perfect.

I’ll show you all of this in this video:Bubbles - AI Meeting Notetaker & Screen Recorder

It doesn’t have to be perfect, but the basic size and essential shape have to be kept.

How would you imagine it? How would you make this?

My attempts so far in video: Bubbles - AI Meeting Notetaker & Screen Recorder

Description for this: I took the horizontal levels from Sketchup and redrawn them, from this I have the layout.

However, the plaster is not perfect, so I simply couldn’t create a nice, curved vertical rib.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!!

Like so? This is very quick probe.

Can you share the PDF so I can work with actual sizes?

Wow, of course! I uploaded them to drive:

We also received a Sketchup file (I don’t know exactly where it was made) which doesn’t exactly match the pdf. But you can get dimensions from that, because the other one doesn’t really.

How do you do it Xdrakosha?

Here is a model so you can have closer look on this fist attempt

I made an egg shape and tilted it approximately like in your video.

I made it hollow.

Then I drew a sketch with horizontal sections and performed an intersection with the egg.

After that, I did the same with vertical ones. I placed the first one by eye, then rotated the other two using a pattern and the vertical axis in the center of the egg. I adjusted the positions a bit manually and again performed an intersection with the egg.

At this stage, we have the complete frame. The only thing left is to cut and make the openings in the same way.

Thanks for the explanation!! I looked at the 3D body you sent. Is it possible to create separate parts from this state?

The vertical elements run along the entire length and the horizontal elements go in between.

I will need to make parts out of it and it will be manufactured piece by piece with CNC.

I think it will work for me too, thanks for the help.

Well, here we say ‘thanks’ by marking the answer as a solution

:raised_back_of_hand: I have a question. My inner carpenter is curious how you intend to join all those ribs. Looks like a laser cut dinosaur skeleton kit.

Here is sliced version if you need it

As a Carpenter myself I would make cut outs and slide them in like I used to do with cardboard boxes with Slicer for Fusion 360.
