Tips for reverse engineering with a scan mesh?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently waiting on my Creality Raptor to arrive as an early birthday present! I’ve been diving into some videos on reverse engineering, but I’ve noticed that most tutorials are tailored to other CAD software.

I have about a month of experience with 3D printing and CAD so far. I was hoping to gain a bit more proficiency before jumping into scanning, but the deal on the Raptor was too good to pass up.

Does anyone here use Shapr3D for reverse engineering scan data? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts or see any recommended tutorials that might help a beginner get started.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey - we just posted a tutorial, hope it helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbRAAzaLkl0

All about the build has also released a few videos about how he does it in Shapr3D recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbPWd_VXSrc
