I applied an update to shapr3d today and I was trying to edit a prior project to adjust some dimensions on one of the main sketches. The weird part, everything on that sketch is purple and I can’t seem to find a way to unlock things. It simply complains that all the points in my sketch are locked or constraint.
None of the constraint buttons allow me to select anything so I am a bit stuck.
Quite frustrating. I cant’ seem to get part this. Other sketches in the project allow me to edit things but not this one.
Found it..I found the earlier sketch that I can edit. I believe the one I am having trouble with is a projection. Although i cannot tell at this point. Kinda of PITA.
If you linked the projected sketch to the original when you projected it, the projected profiles will not be editable. You can perform unlinked projections to avoid this in the future.
The problem I have is figuring that out. The 3th sketch in my project looks to be a copy of the 2nd sketch which I can edit. I did this several weeks ago so the steps are a bit foggy but my problem is trying to figure out how I got there.
I was simply trying to re-dimension the item and it turned into long effort. I had not expected that.
I things to work. I did have to delete the sketch that resulting in the warp and emboss. The sketch would NOT allow me to adjust the dimensions to an expected behavior. There were 3 objects on that sketch and each one affected the other (that was not at all expected) as I tried to dimension them.
I finally got frustrated and deleted that sketch the re-built the objects, and applied the warp and emboss which worked to the scale I needed. It wasn’t difficult but the fact I had to do that was confusing and unexpected. It worked out but IMO my sketches are fairly simple…just several embossed items in a curved panel. I had expected to re-dimension items easily…but that was not the case. The bad part I could not determine why.
Either way, so far the tool is great. I have made several other projects without any issues whatsoever. Enjoying the ease of most of the functions. More to projects to come…
