26.161 - Direct Export to Bambu Lab and OrcaSlicer on desktop

Export designs directly to Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer on desktop to prepare prints and send models straight to your printer.

  • New (Windows and macOS): Bambu Lab and OrcaSlicer are now available as export integrations on desktop. Select Slicer (Bambu) or Slicer (Orca) from the export menu to instantly open your design in your preferred slicing software and send it straight to your printer.

This is a great feature!

I figured this would finally be an option to export multi-colour models into Bambu Studio, however I’ve run into a little snag on testing. I get this error message in Bambu Studio:

So the geometry gets loaded correctly in Bambu Studio, unfortunately not with the assigned colors though.

It would be nice to be able to select which Orca slicer to use. Printer manufacturers are making custom builds of Orca

I wonder if it would be possible to just automatically export to whatever slicer is set as the default app for 3mf files in your operating system.

Since Orca and its variations are all forked from Bambu Studio in the first place, I’d wager they all handle 3mf files the same way.
