Hi to all iPad/pencil users,
Not sure if this is the correct place to put this post as there is no heading for seniors struggling with the digital age
I and a few others have experienced sensitivity/dexterity issues using Shapr3D with the iPad and pencil. Previously covered under this topic I discovered that I experienced considerable improvements by disabling pretty much all the pencil settings.
Further to disabling the pencil settings I have recently improved my dexterity and sensitivity exponentially. I achieved this with the following aids from “Paperlike” https://paperlike.com :
Paperlike’s iPad Screen Protector
This screen protector makes a huge difference for me. It promotes friction between the pencil and the iPad improving the accuracy and tactile feel. I guess the name describes the sensation perfectly. It also deadens the tapping sound that was not a happy sound for me.
Paperlike Pencil Tips
The pencil tips promote further friction and again for me improve my accuracy.
Paperlike Pencil Grip
I find the Apple pencil is very slippery so I was over gripping it. This caused tension and fatigue in my had. The Paperlike pencil grip is in fact very grippy. This grippy grip allows me to relax my grip on the pencil . Now my hand tension and fatigue is reduced considerably. Note: this grip is charging compatible as it has a thin flat side that sticks to the iPad charging magnet.
Paperlike Drawing Glove
Ok so the drawing glove seemed a little over the top and geeky and I almost did not oder it. As it turns out it is yet another super aid for drawing on the iPad. So what it allows you to do is rest your hand right on the screen with no worries of accidentally messing up your drawing by selecting something unintended. As with the pencil grip it promotes a relaxed tension free hand.
I can truly say its a game changer for this old digitally challenged senior
Hope this helps others as much as it did for me!!
