How do I access the right click features using my iPad and an Apple Pencil? Thank you !

You can access the right-click features by pressing and holding with your Apple Pencil. The relevant context menu will then appear.
When I try this I just get an area selection dialog box. Are there settings I need to change? Thank you
This does not work, is there a setting I need to turn on for this to work?
My click and hold/long click is not working with my Apple Pencil on my iPad, I only get the selection dialog box. Is there something in the settings I need to change?
