Board game insert design

Looking for help on board game insert design. Basicly making organizer boxes. Would anyone give me a basic out line how to approach this? I’d like to just draw lines, make them 1mm (roughly) thick and extrude…is that possible

Yes, it is

Can you be more specific? What exactly are you asking for?

How to make a box? How to draw a sketch? How to extrude the profile?

I can make a box. I can draw a sketch. I can extrude a profile. But I guess I’m looking for an optimize work flow to do the design work. To me I should be able to sketch out a map of what I want to extrude with just lines and then offset those lines and extrude. But it seems the only way I can offset it if it is an enclosed item.

Here is a link to the type of stuff I’d like to design. Forgive me for being very new to this type of work and asking probably very basic/uneducated questions.

Looks like your question not about 3D modeling.

Sounds like a work for another software, maybe CorelDRAW of something similar.

Personally, i’d set up a base at a nominal thickness to print flat off the bed, then using sketch on face, draw up any dividers between sections to the desired height, possibly making the ones around the perimeter slighlly thicker. Any lid I’d derive from the size of the inside edge, making the perimeter slightly higher so lid fits without moving. If the dividers are thin you may have to raise the infill percentage to prevent fraying..
