Change to exporting and file extensions

I’ve noticed an odd thing that happens when trying to export things with Shapr on MacOS. It’s often I have multiple models in a single drawing, and I’m exporting different parts in different formats, but often with similar names for keeping things organized. So I will CMD + SHIFT + I to isolate the body I want to export, and CMD + SHIFT + E to open the export menu. Since I’m exporting a part and not a project, it’s rare I use the project name as the file name, so I rename it on the next screen.

The process:

The issue is when you use the shortcut CMD + SHIFT + E to export a file, and you choose STL for example. If you click on another file to autofill your file name text box so you don’t have to manually type it out again, it suffixes your file name with the extension of the file you’re clicking on, changing the format. So even if I chose “save as STL” on the previous screen, clicking on another file changes that format

I tried this in a few different apps, one example being Adobe Photoshop. Other apps replicate the name without the extension and save in the desired format. While Shapr does copy the name, you then have to manually change the extension of the file you’re saying, and if that extension is cut off because the name is long, it’s just a bunch of extra fuss to get to it. If a .step file exists, and I choose to export an STL instead, being able to click the .step file to assume the same name and save would speed this process up a lot, and prevent saving files in the wrong format. This also prevents the “overite” popup action, because the extension is different and it’s not the same name.
