The problem that this feature will solve:
Currently, when you export and pick the filename from the list, it does not adjust the filetype extension to match the file type. Example below - exporting as 3mf, instead of previously exported stl.
Selecting the previous filename, just copies the whole filename and hence the file type is incorrect.
Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:
The file type extension is changed to match the export type. So selecting ‘bracket.stl’ would export as ‘bracket.3mf’ (given that 3mf has been selected as the file type). Most application I use do this.
What can’t you achieve without this feature?
It’s annoying when one has to edit the filetype extension. Another example of a lack of appreciation for UI/UX from the devs.
