Creating male/female threads

Hi! I’m really trying to understand what the best practice on creating threads are for a lid to a jar for example.

I’ve been creating a circular object on the x and z, access. Turn on front section view and create triangle on the y anxis and 360 rotate. I can get the male threads on great, I space them no problem. And it’s when I create the female side something is wrong.

Everything is too tight. I’ve done some 3d prints and in principle they should work, but I’m either not giving a tolerance or the angle?

Does anyone know of a tutorial maybe? I can find ones for threaded nuts, but this isn’t quite the same so I’m not sure if it should be created in the same way. This is just something I can’t figure out!

Did a quick Google search and found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9nCvDPohX4

That’s the one I found as well it was pretty confusing but I can try again

For what it’s worth, here’s a video I did some 4 years ago. Note that this was a much earlier Shapr3D user interface compared to the current with more features. Maybe this will help.
