Export STL in size...Open in 3D Printer software as another

I made something on Shapr3D…set unit to inches, made it (3inch x 3inch), exported it.
Imported it to my 3D printer software (Repetier) and it was so tiny I had to scale it 25x to get it to about the right size.

Any idea what I did wrong or how I can correct it.

Love this program, by the way…can’t wait to start having my students use it.

Aloha!

Is there an answer to this post? If not, Bump.

The slicer which was used was set to mm. It has to be multiplied by 25.4mm/inch. One must pay attention to what units the 3D printer uses, as an STL is unit less.

It’s all about the slicer and STLs.

I stopped using STL and am better for it. I export as 3MF because STL does not transport unit data. Exporting in 3MF sends unit info and your slicer will usually ask you if or just make the conversion.

If using STL, simply changing units in Shapr to mm before exporting the STL solves the problem in most all cases.

I am actively trying to stop thinking in inches in favor of metric. As a younger man I worked in construction. This is a really hard thing to do.

Point: Printer doesn’t use “units”. It uses Gcode. It’s all about the slicer.

Thank you - I will export in 3MF and see if that works. I’m betting it will!
