Hello,
I am a new to shapr3D and so far I have been unable to figure out what I am doing wrong.
I want to extrude the sketch I created from a 2d image (jpg), the part I cannot figure out is how to just extrude it without it copying the features to the bottom also. I am going to 3d print this and want the bottom to just be “plain” with no features or anything.
If you want Shapr to ignore any lines, select them and change them to Construction lines (bottom symbol of the constraints).
Your other option is to have two sketches on the same plane, and turn them on and off as you need.
Not sure what you mean by this. Is it extruding both directions? If so, You can set whether you want a two-way or one-way extrude by clicking on the Extrude tool again after selecting it and choosing the desired option.
If I am right try this as a “workaround” for now: Select the face that is not sitting flat like you want it to. Use the “replace face” tool and select a face that is sitting flat. See if that works.
I think the problem might just be to do with the way shapr displays joint lines with some geometry.
Use the measurement tool (bottom left of screen)
If you SHIFT and left click on both of the faces you want flat on the bottom.
Shapr will display what the distance is between the two selected faces.
If the parallel distance is zero there is no problem
