Feature VOTE

I thought it would be interesting for the community AND Shapr team with a poll of the most requested features. You only get ONE VOTE. If I’ve missed your favorite request, please mention it briefly below.

  • Thread tool (standards such as ISO, metric etc)
  • Joints (fixed, linear, rotational etc. with limits)
  • Components & External file references (auto updated)
  • More materials, options and HDR lighting in Visualization
  • Rendering (high quality image output)
  • Animation (explode, camera etc.)
  • Analysis (various strengths, additive layers, CAM etc)
0 voters

It seems I cannot change the poll after 5 minutes, but I will add a few pickups below and update their votes (just write “VOTE: [description]” as a reply).

  • Plugin system (scripts w/wo UI) and Marketplace (0 votes)
  • Sheet metal tools (flange + unfold) (0 votes)

NOTE: There are of course hundreds of requests for small fixes / additions, I was trying to keep the list to “major features” only. I’m not sure that “Thread tool” scores as a major feature (or components for that matter), but it is a burning topic. You could just as well view them as “Modeling toolset” and “Workflow improvements” I guess.

VOTE: Wrap / Fold Tool

Hippa and SOC compliance for Pro version!

But in reality I vote for Unwrap.

Also pattern along a path.

But I would vote all of the Above given the option.

What is “wrap / fold”? Is that a sheet metal toolset?

For example, in MoI3D, a single tool allows you to do:
Look at my post in this thread
Wrap/Unwrap, Fold/Unfold, Deform

I would put this under “Modeling toolset” along with “Thread tool”. I might have to rewrite the poll to make it more inclusive.

Even on the Pro Version! Good to know.

This is quite surprising, I thought Thread / modeling toolset would have taken the lead, given the number of posts in that thread. Joints I can understand, but animation? Wow, that’s unexpected. Exciting! Keep voting! :flexed_biceps:
