I’m trying to join the planes with splines in order to create a body via guided lofting. Fit spline ends been jagged while the control spline doesn’t intersect the panes properly for guided lofting. Any help appreciated.

You should make a guide at first, then the cross sections.
Make new spline with the offset as your height of the cross sections, then make a plane and draw the section on it . The purple dots help in the conections
Or, if the sections same try the sweep tool
