History-Based Parametric Modeling is coming to Shapr3D

Thank you, Patrick! And thank you for supporting us from literally day 1. Without you, Shapr3D would not be what it is today.

Dear Istvan, I hope I will have the chance to meet you one day. Let me know if you come to Paris. All the best. patrick

Thank you Patrick, I’ll definitely reach out next time I’m in Paris!

Why doesn’t extrude work anymore? - before it was intuitive of what you are doing. If there was an issue, I could clarify it was meant to subtract, add, etc.

Hi @GraphicSquib , what is the issue exactly? How is it related to this topic?

Can someone send me the password for TestFlight? Thanks…

Mike…

Can you please try it again? It should work now.

Istvan,

That works… Thanks…

Mike…

I signed up almost just after you post this, but I still haven’t got any links. I would like to try this on a iPad, it really exciting to have such professional feature.

Testflight says than test has run out and i need a code to download ?

How did you solve it?

I have not seen any updates or announcements about the Parametric Modeling for the live version. Website still shows 2023 for release but only Beta is available. What is the word on the street?

We’ve rolled it out already to a few new users, and soon you’ll be able to turn it on in the live app. Initially it will be optional, then after a couple months we will update everyone.

oh so have I. Absolute nightmare sometimes. Shapr3D is so much better and I get through my designs a lot faster with less frustrations. For general modelling Shapr3D has been just what I was hoping for. And I can afford it too.

Very cool. came back to try it with this feature added. Its something i feel like i NEED. only once in awhile… but when i need it i NEED IT lol XD

Just tried the new beta. Amazing that we are getting history and parametric. How do I set variables for the parametric design? Can’t seem to find that panel.

Hi Lennart, variables are not available yet, the team is working on it right now. It’ll be available soon.

Cool thanks! Another thing I noticed that would be amazing is when using offset to lock in a specific offset to another geometry, even when that geometry changes. E.g. a circle 1mm smaller then another growing and shrinking when the other circle is changed in size.

We are working on it. Sketching improvements are a big part of implementing a great parametric modeling experience.
