I created an account just to reply to this topic. First of all, people saying ‘but it’s only 25 dollars a month’ or ‘it’s only 299 a year’ should keep their mouths shut if they don’t have anything better to say. You cannot look in another person’s wallet, you don’t know their current living conditions and the fact that YOU can or want to play for it, doesn’t matter in the slightest.
The same goes for everything that’s considered a hobby. Whereas one person can and will spend thousands of dollars on something, another person can’t even afford to pay 5 dollars a month for something, even though they would happily do so if they could.
Also, it’s a very weak excuse and not an argument at all to say ‘but it’s a startup company’. How long have they been around? If they’ve been working on this program for well over five years, how is it even still a startup company?
Other people in this thread have offered many good ideas and solutions for the company to offer to people who are hobbyists. As it stands now they are really losing out on money that would otherwise have gone into their pockets, would have supported them, if only they would offer a hobbyist pricing range or solution.
I for one would love to have the full program at my disposal, but I’m not going to pay 25 dollars a month or pay 300 dollars in one go .Why? Because I cannot afford it!
So get off your high horse, get down to Earth and understand that people WANT to support the company, WANT to buy the full version, but the costs are what’s stopping them.
I can guarantee that if the price would go down to 10 dollars a month or if a token-based solution would be offered or even pay-per-export or something like that a lot of hobbyists would immediately sign up for it.
But as it stands now they get NOTHING from these people. So, what’s better? Trying to accommodate people with a smaller wallet or holding on to a pricing model that essentially scares off potential customers?
