How can I cut a shelled pyramid shape into a solid object? I keep getting Boolean failures

What are you trying to achieve? You will likely have to do this with a combination of steps? Maybe a combination of subtract and intersection operations?

Well at the moment of your screenshot there’s no intersection between your pyramid and your cube. There’s simply nothing to subtract. To cut it out, you need to move the pyramid into your cube. Is that what you meant with boolean failure?

It was too early for me to think of that. :hot_beverage: before posting.

I am trying to cut the prismatic body into the bodybody, sorry if I am overlooking somthing simple but they on the same plane.

To subtract one object from another, they need to intersect. The Boolean operations do not automatically move your objects into each other, you need to do that yourself.

Thannks I will try this

You moved it back up before you did the subtraction. Did you hit the undo button?

They need to intersect! you can not boolean objects that do not even touch each other.

Shapr3D - Untitled Project - 25 August 2026 | Loom I fully admit that I clearly dont know what I am doing

I got to be honest, I’m running out of ways to explain this.

Let me try this way: when you have a tub of ice cream, and you want to get some of it out with a spoon, you have to dig the spoon into the ice cream. Just resting the spoon on top of the ice cream is not good enough. Nothing will happen.

You need need to put your pyramid into the cube.

Maybe going through some of the tutorial videos shapr provides would be a good point to start.

Hello gsifx1, Have you done any tutorials?

You are having selection troubles in your video. Tip: when selecting things, look top center and you will see several selections to filter what is being selected (Faces, edges, bodies etc.).

If you have a keyboard simply hitting tab will cycle through those WHILE you are in the process of selecting items. Very handy!

In your video you were using the click and drag selection tool to select on item, but you also grabbed a face on the other object and so it moved too. Choosing “bodies” as I described above will keep that from hapenning. Be careful what you select. Trouble tapping with a mouse might be a better way to select one item. Hope this helps.
