iPad tutorial

Are there any beginner tutorials that actually show how to use Shapr3D on iPad? I’m really frustrated with this. I’m totally new to 3D design and CAD softwares, with exception of doing a few things in tinkercad. I want to design some things to 3D print. I’m not a professional, and have no background with this.

First, trying to use macos version with magic mouse is completely unusable. If I’m in sketch mode, and even look at the mouse wrong, the whole perspective flips. Then I have to reset to default view, and then top, then I have to drag and resize to get it back to where it was. This involves clicking one button and right clicking mouse to drag, or another button and sliding up and down on top of the mouse to zoom, which is incredibly annoying. If I click on anything or barely touch the mouse wrong if flips again. So my solution for this part is to replace my 80.00 magic mouse with a cheap 10.00 mouse that actually has a middle click and scroll wheel. That should get here in a couple days. I have a wacom intuous pro tablet, and tried using it, but with this ‘magic’ mouse it’s impossible.

So I bought an iPad air 13 and pencil pro. I figured since this was originally developed on iPad, maybe I should learn on it. Unfortunately all the videos I find are using some desktop version, and I can’t figure out how to do mind numbingly simple things like select some objects to delete them. I just need to know the basic basics to move forward. All of this to me is unintuitive.

Could someone please point me to some resources that I can work through to get up to speed?

Check out this guy.

Thanks, this is helpful. Also, I’m happy to report that most of my frustration learning this software has been alleviated with switching to the 10.00 three-button wheel mouse. There should be a disclaimer about not bothering with trying to use magic mouse.

Same link I was going to share. Bevelish Creations is great. The Shapr3D channel is really good too. https://youtube.com/@shapr3d?si=vxHc5rDboGph8F_S

Knowing your mouse was the cause, you should consider going to the dark side and try some PC gaming mouse!

One’s with numpad on the side.

On my Mac I reprogramed specifically for different apps. For 3d Programs I mapped the numbers to Top, Bottom, Front, Left, Right views.

There are specific 3d modeling mouses, but these are cheap.

Thanks! I’ll check those out. I like the idea of mapping the different views.
