Issue with circular pattern extrusions

I’m having an issue with performing circular extrusions. I start with a section view and make my through hole. I then select the hole and rotate and it makes the extruded holes without issue. I then make my second cutout, this time, I extrude up to knock it out of the dome. Then I try my pattern and it conflicts and won’t perform. I’m not sure if it’s the way I extruded the second cutout? Has anyone seen this? If so, is there a better way I should be creating the pattern?

On a side note, I can easily make a pattern of the knockout as a solid object, make the pattern, selected body 1 and subtract the circular pattern from it. I guess my real question is, why is it conflicting when attempting to do it the way I show in the video.

I believe the logic is you are staking booleans on booleans.

On your video booleans works on areas that doesn’t already have booleans.

Hi there
Try doing it the other way around.
Extrude the small CUT body that you want, as a new body.
Rotate it as the pattern of 8 bodies.
Then Boolean subtract all 8 from the main body.
You are then pattern copying bodies not Boolean operations.
