Issue with imperial units in architectural format

I can no longer type values in feet, inches and fractional inches. The software only allows me to use decimal numbers even though the architectural format of imperial units is selected. I was able to type values in architectural format for long time until I upgraded the software. I am an architect and I do not draw in decimal feet and inches or millimeters. I am using shapr3d on my iPad Pro for couple years and I haven’t had any big issues until now. Please help

Hi,
Try to change Foot and Inch format > Architectural

I did and it does not work. It reads dimensions in architectural format but when you try to input dimensions in the same format the calculator only give you options using decimal units so instead of typing 1’-5 3/8” I have to type 17.375”. So instead of concentrating on design I have to concentrate on calculation. Someone said I should type 1+5+3 divide symbol 8 which not the way our brain operates when drawing in IU. We are not programmers

That was done to support variables and equations. I understand your pain (even though I don’t use imperial units in my work).

For now, you can use this workaround: enter 1 ft + (5 + 3/8) in in the calculator to get

I’m a programmer, and I’ve noticed long ago that my programming skills really help me in 3D modeling. I tend to apply the same kind of logic I use when writing code.

This is also correct.

Shapr converts it to

If you keep it in inches, no feet you can also

If you need feet.
