Modeling Envoirnment is Too Dark When in Default View

When I’m in the default view (Double Click Cube) my objects are very dim. If I zoom in then they get much brighter. See the two examples below.

Is there a solution to this problem?

I think that’s because you assigned metallic materials to your objects. Depending what angle the reflect, they can be very dark or very bright.

I’d advise to use flat materials or just a simple color change while you’re modeling, and only assign materials once you’re ready to visualize. Also using bright pastel colours helps a lot with visibility while you’re modeling.

Thanks for the response !

All I’ve done is change to a solid color in the Visualization Mode. It’s all good when in this mode, but as soon as I go back to Modeling, then everything gets dim.

Graphic below shows in default view in the Visualization Mode.

I think lighting is fixed and doesn’t follow point of view in modeling mode. Bottom is always dark for some reason.

Try to turn off “Show edges”

That isn’t a solution itself; it’s more of an explanation of why it’s dim.

Wow, that made a big difference !

Thanks!
