Is there a way to see the distance for a movement/Rotation in the History panel–similar to the Scale history?
Unfortunately, no. That’s why I do not recommend using move tool as long as you can.

Whats the goal?
If I have 1 box model in the work space and there is nothing else around it. Your basically not moving even though your moving it in empty space. 
If there is 2 box now what matter is distance between those 2 models.
I recommend using the Align and Translate tools as much as possible instead. I know there are situations where the Move tool is the only option, but I’ve noticed people using it even when it’s not necessary.
Yep. Recent update brings this to us. Also you can keep showing pinned dimensions all the time even after closing measurement tool.
