Hi All
Is it possible to move endpoinst ( as well as control points ) of a spline perpendicular to its plane ( point of start.?
My requirement is to then follow onlong it to create a rising curve
I have managed to create the 2 seperate handrails easily.Joining them is proving the challenge.
screenshots below.
The first is the shape I need to make . The one shown is a .stl import
Looks like I can not add more screenshots???
The last screenshot is a bezier curve I created in 2 planes in sketchup. Where one line follows the up coming line and meets a horizontal line above.
How can you manipulate the control points in Shapr3D to result in a similar outcome? I plan to then use this line to extend a custom profile shape along it.

Shapr3D doesn’t support 3D sketches. But maybe this approach will help you:
HI, I have tried this approach. It seems to work OK. However shapr3d does not keep the profile vertical. Any ideas how this can be controlled.?
Not sure which profile you’re referring to. But one thing I can say for sure — Shapr3D shouldn’t keep anything; that’s your job
I believe there’s a constraint that can help with what you’re trying to achieve.
It’s hard to say anything more useful because your request isn’t clear enough to me
Hi Mike
That looks real good. Thanks for sharing.
I think the need to control the spline is still important to me. I think the only approach left is the LOFT tool. By placing multiple profile sketches on the flat spline and then controling the heights. I will look into this approach in more detail. Variables. and dynamic heights may prove usefull in controlling the final curve
This is another shape that needs to be created and matched to the incoming bottom and outgoing top.
