I haven’t used S3D for awhile but in the old version I explicitly turned off cloud sync. Now with the latest update on macOS: S3D Version 26.10.0 (10376), it restarted sync automatically without my permission. And to make things even worse, there is no longer an option to turn off cloud sync.
What’s going on here? Why do you force paid users to upload their projects to cloud without their permission AND no option to turn it off?
For everyone residing in the EU who has a Plus subscription: we could consider filing a (class-action) lawsuit for violation of the EU GDPR. None of us has ever consented to the transfer of our intellectual property to a third-party server, so such a lawsuit would likely have a good chance of success.
I think it’s slowly becoming enough with this constant theft of personal data. Sorry, but there is no other way to call it. From an architectural point of view (I’m a software architect), there are absolutely zero reasons that would “force” a company like Shapr to do this. And of course I would be able to demonstrate that in court.
Certainly not. This option allows you to keep a local copy of the projects that are already uploaded to cloud. What we are discussing here is an option to completely disable uploading to cloud.
