Pull or stretch a surface from a point

Not sure that there is a right direction.
If these are anywhere near your expectations they could be a starting point:

In the above Tools > Shell was used to remove the unwanted fill.

Using Apertures for the Support Poles will enable some deformation:

The tent was created from a cubical Body and circular Closed Shapes were used to form the concave areas. Transform > Move/Rotate was used to move the Aperture Edges up or down.

Transform > Move/Rotate > selecting the + Copy Option could produce:

Tools > Subtract > selecting the Keep Original [top left] if required.
S3D is very versatile, the above are only my take in this instance.
Experimenting is highly recommended.
