Shape blend with other shape

Good afternoon,

I have been working on this tootbrush project for some time and am now trying to add some nice beauty details. I have been trying to add a nice line on the side of the tootbrush but I just don’t seem to manage to have the line be the exact same shape as the shape of the tootbrush.

I hope someone knows how to do this and is willing to help me. The 3D model and pictures are attached to the post for your convenience. Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Jonathan

I’m In work at the moment and don’t have time to do a video, so I hope the pictures might help.

Basically I sketched a spline line on your Plane, following the shape of the brush, then moved the line down roughly to the middle of the handle and offset the line 1mm and closed the ends of the sketch.

Then I Projected the Sketch onto the handle of the toothbrush. I didn’t need to do that but wanted to see if the positioning of the lines looked right.

Then I extruded the lines on the sketch into a new body, moved that body onto the brush handle and Subtracted the handle from the new body.

Here I’ve moved the new body away from the handle so you can see what it looks like after the subtraction.

I then moved the new body into the handle by 0.5mm and Subtracted it from the handle.

Which gave me this result (default material reapplied to make the cutout easier to see).

Here is the handle Mirrored, Unioned and then in Visualizations.

I made a shortish video with audio when I got home from work. Hopefully it explains things better and that you can understand my accent.

So far, great help. Thank you so much.

There seems to be one thing tho… Now there is this “gap” at the line. Is there a possibility for the line to be the exact same ‘height’ as the toothbrush body and have it still be able to be a separate body?

I’m looking foreword to your solution.

Kind regards,
Jonathan

Nevermind, i’ve figured it out. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort in helping me fix this. God bless you.
