I downloaded a stl file of a column head from the website ameed.net (Search Results for “Top of column ” – Download Stl Files, Obj Files) and when I open it in Shapr3D it crashes. Is it safe ? 
Hi @Rohan, it can happen that the device you are using runs out of memory (I mean RAM). The file contains 247 bodies and I am not brave enough to think about how many vertices 
What device are you trying to open it on?
I am using my 9.7” iPad Pro .
Oh yes, that will definitely be a performance issue 
Please try to reduce the mesh size in some mesh editors, like Meshmixer
