quick question, can new sketch lines snap or be constrained to new created datum plans and can the datum planes thickness be adjusted to be able to see them when looking straight into the normal view.

When you sketch you are on a plane. If your “datum plane” is what Shapr3D calls a “construction plane,” then no, you cannot snap to it. And, no the thickness of a plane cannot be adjusted; there is no thickness to them.
One thing you do get when you have a plane intersect a sketch is little purple dots where they intersect. You can use those when you sketch and it will snap to them.
