Sketch won't snap to edge

Look at the two photos below… I put a construction plane at the edge of a block, at 45 degrees.

Then I am drawing a rectangle on the construction plane. It won’t snap to the edge, it snaps to the grid instead… How do I get the rectangle to snap to the edge when I am sketching it?

While you were making the movie, I found another way… project the edge of the block to the 45 degree plane. Then you can snap anywhere on that edge.

Or, you can create the sketch on the front of the block and then rotate it 45*
