Is there now a higher probability for support of other platforms?
Yes, it is definitely outdated. However, we still don’t see any good android tablets on the market. But Surface… Yes, it could be interesting. Who knows. 
These reported latency numbers are usually not true in general.
They are true for a specific device + app combination. For different apps, this latency varies a lot. By a factor of 2-3x, in fact. Companies report the lowest number possible, but that doesn’t mean that it’s true in general.
